Medtech Canada releases Position Paper on Provincial Transformation and Centralization of Procurement

Currently there is no consistent model for procurement across Canada, nor a consistent set of procurement rules or practices. The landscape is different in each province and is often different within regions or specific providers. Many governments across Canada are currently implementing or exploring changes to health care procurement—including centralization initiatives.

Medtech Canada, as the national association representing the medical technology industry in the country, strongly supports initiatives to improve and transform the current health care procurement landscape. To positively contribute these initiatives, our association has developed a position paper on this topic that includes key principles for optimized procurement in health care and recommendations on how to put these principles into practice.
